About the bells that rubbed Ljubljana’s locals the wrong way

The name of room 33 takes its inspiration from a fun story from the past. The Ljubljana Castle used to sound its bells to warn people of approaching danger. It was impossible not to hear their mighty sound, so the bells began to be used also to signal the time of all bars and shops closing. This was not popular with the townspeople, as every day at 11 pm the bells inexorably interrupted every party, sending people home. That’s how they came to be called “mischievous bells”.
