Incredible Experience
The Zlata Ladjica Boutique Hotel was one of the most delightful hotel experiences that I’ve had in a long time. We had just come from a very high-end, very fancy hotel brand known for their service in Venice and the ZL team had them beat in every way possible (at a fraction of the price!) Starting with the porters meeting us at our car transfer to carry all of our luggage (it was embarrassingly heavy!) to the warmth that emanated from the check in team to the personal tour of our rooms and all the features that were included in the rooms, it was one just one fabulous interaction after another.
The property itself is also stunning. The thought and care in the renovations are evident and the beds are incredibly comfortable and the AC is strong (no small feat in Europe!!) The location is truly the best in Ljubljana and the breakfast was a feast for the senses. The presentation and description of each option in the breakfast menu made it feel like we were dining in a Michelin starred location.
We immediately fell in love with Ljubljana and began planning our return trip before we even checked out. My only regret is that we stayed just one night but we will certainly be back and will only stay at Zlata Ladjica.

Excellent location, amazing attentive staff, and highly recommended place to stay
Excellent location in terms of being right in the city centre but also a 90 min drive from the coast or alpine attractions. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff who also handled the car hire and return and provided excellent recommendations for restaurants, trips out of town and picturesque spots, how best to navigate places, etc.
Most people don’t tend to stay long in Ljubjiana so limited wardrobe space and/or drawers in the room. But other than that the rooms were beautifully decorated with a space bathroom and we had a lovely little private balcony.
